Recipe serves 4 to 6

Preparation time: 15 minutes and 1 hour and 30 minutes cooking time

 

Ingredients
250 g round white or fragrant rice / 150 g sugar / 30 g melted butter / 1⁄2 teaspoon saffron /1 cl rosewater / 1 liter water at least / 2 cardamom seeds (infused beforehand) / 50 g toasted flaked almonds

 

Instructions

- Rinse the rice thoroughly to remove all the starch.

- Cook the rice in the water for about 35 minutes, stirring occasionally.

- When the rice is cooked and the water has almost evaporated, add the sugar, almonds and saffron, one after the other. Mix well.

- Add the butter and continue mixing well.

- Wrap the lid with a clean tea towel, cover the pan and leave to infuse for 10 minutes.

- Pour into individual bowls or salad bowls. Decorate with cinnamon, toasted almonds or pistachios, for example.
